Benefits from MOL Products

BENEFITS INCLUDE:

• Increased microbial activity, which aids in thatch reduction.
• Thatch decomposition into the topsoil layer making it “humus rich” promoting plant growth and strength.
• Improved water penetration by reducing the thatch layer.
• Reduction in “spongy” turf through use of MOL products along with regular monthly deep slicing and use of solid tines on fairways.
• Elimination of fall aerification of greens, tees, and/or fairways when used consistently on a 7-10 day spraying schedule for at least two (2) years.
• Increased club revenue through savings from the elimination of the fall aerification labor and material costs along with increased rounds of golf made available during the period which the course would otherwise be torn-up for aerification.
Integration - MOL Products may be sprayed in conjunction with other products. We highly recommend that a “jar test” on each combination before spraying. You may contact the Manufacturer for results of items already tested.

LONG RANGE BENEFITS
As noted by various long-term customers using “MOL Products”

• Customers have reported up to a 70-80% reduction in their use of other fertilizers and fungicides.
• MOL Products aid in creating a constant natural supply of nutrients as the microbes feed off the organic matter from the thatch and break it down to form a rich humus layer in the top soil.
• The turf becomes much stronger and healthier making it more tolerant to drought and high stress periods from heat and high traffic.
• Turf sprayed with MOL Products tends to have less disease than turf areas that have not been sprayed with MOL Products.
• MOL Products create an overall healthier plant while being environmentally friendly and biodegradable.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

Reduced Fertilization
• MOL Products help reduce the amount of fertilizers and fungicides required during the season.
How? Due to the increased microbial activity and decomposition of organic matter (thatch), nutrients are given off from this natural process at an accelerated rate providing a higher percentage of nutrients that turf requires. Some supplementation may be required after the organic layer has been reduced.

Reduced Usage
• Customers have found, the longer they use MOL Products, less product is required to achieve the same result. This usually happens within a three (3) to five (5) year period. How? Once the thatch is at a controlled level to achieve great playing conditions, MOL Products are only required to maintain thatch levels at the desired amounts.

Less Disruption Of Play
• One of the most dramatic results from the use of MOL Products is, after continuing a 7-10 day spray schedule for at least two (2) years, there is no need for a fall aerification! Thus the elimination of aerifier holes, aerifier plug clean up, and thatch clean up from heavy verticutting will allow the course to be open for more play.

How? Greens and tees can be aerified once in the Springtime. Fairways can be put on a 3-year rotation (6 fairways per year in the spring.)

You can calculate your course savings by using MOL Products and eliminating one aerification using this worksheet:
